Histomorphometry
Objectives
In addition to organ weighing, and morphological examination, several histomorphometric measurements can be performed to quantitatively evaluate the remodeling of a tissue.
Summarized methodology
Following tissue staining, images are captured using a light microscope (Eclipse E800, Nikon, France – Figure 1) connected to a video camera (Digital camera DXM1200, Nikon, France), and histomorphometric measurements are performed by computerized image analysis system (NIS-elements software®).
